A 19 year old JANNALI man, will face Sutherland Local Court next month after an assault inside the Gymea Hotel left a security guard with a head injury requiring stitches on Friday.

Police allege the man pushed the security guard into glass at the Gymea Hotel on Gymea Bay Road about 10.40pm.

Sutherland police said the man was arrested and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, malicious damage and failing to quit a licenced premises.

He is due before court on September 28.
