Flashing school zone signage will be placed outside Burraneer Bay Public School, the state government announced this week.

The announcement comes almost four months after a year 1 student was critically injured when he was knocked down by a car when he ran onto the road shortly after school ended.

The school and its P&C has been involved in a long-running campaign to improve safety around the school.
