Country music has changed over the years with so many genres within the genre such as country rock, pop country, alternate, bluegrass, bush ballads, honky tonk, traditional country, western swing, & modern country – but never forgetting the great classics of old – some of the music I grew up on.

A regular feature on the show is celebrating the birthdays of some of the country greats and maybe not so greats!!

I have always loved country music, having grown up in a household filled with the sounds. The indoctrination began very early in life.
A perfect opportunity presented itself when I retired and became a Presenter on 2ssrfm this gave me the ability to spread the word and love of country music via the radio.

Who would have thought when I joined the radio station 19 years ago that I would be the winner of the People’s Choice Most Popular Country Music DJ at the Tamworth Music Festival People’s Choice Awards in 2019 after five previous nominations. A special award voted by my very loyal listeners.

Didn’t think it could get much better – In 2023 I was inducted into the Australian Country Music Broadcasters Hall of Fame at the Tamworth Country Music Festival People’s Choice Awards. What an honour and a privilege to be included in that list.

I will continue to be excited about getting the music out there and will endeavour to provide interesting and entertaining programs for the enjoyment of my listeners.
