“On November 11 2012, 172 Fire Twirlers broke the Guiness World Record for most people twirling fire simultaneously at Miranda Park. The old record was 117.
Sydney on Fire is a Group Volunteers united by Talin, 6 who tragically passed away from a tumor earlier this year, that set out to break the record and bring it back home to Australia and to raise much needed funds for Bear Cottage and organisation that offers support and care for children with terminal illnesses and their parents.
Photographer Alexander Kesselaar, who covered the event said “It was amazing to see so many people come together to make this record happen here in the Shire. The community support was incredible. We hope to make this an annual event that will show off the region in a new positive light”.
