A Sylvania man, 56, spent the night in jail and is expected to face court later today charged with offences relating to breaking and entering in St George and Sutherland Shire.
Officers attached to the Redfern Region Enforcement Squad made the arrest after forming a task force to investigate a string of break-ins in the Miranda, Hurstville and St George local area commands.
During investigations, police used a search warrant at a property in Pembroke Street, Sylvania.
Officers had seized a number of allegedly stolen items and 500 rounds of ammunition from a second house in Lachlan Street, Sylvania Waters, in July.
The man was charged with breaking, entering and stealing, and possessing ammunition without a licence.
He will appear before Sutherland Local Court.
