Recently 2SSR presenter. Ann Warren was interviewed by our local paper.

Why is St George and Sutherland Shire the best place in the world to live?

My parents, my brother and I migrated here in the 1960s and I know that I’m living their dream. The region has it all: friendliest people, best location, great lifestyle and the best coffee this side of the equator.

What is one thing about the region that you would like to change?

I would love to see the locals support and listen to their community radio station more because it’s important to protect and encourage our independent voice as a community.

Do you have a favourite spot you like to visit or a favourite local restaurant, cafe or shop?

You will find me at a local cafe by 11am enjoying a brew. I am a big fan of Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Arts Centre: film club, seasonal festivals, courses, exhibitions and a great cafe.

What do you enjoy reading the most in your Leader?

Your View and Zest are always interesting and the Leader creates a great place for the community to share their stories and concerns.

Has any particular story stuck in your memory?

I read about two elderly women who have been volunteering for their local hospitals for decades.

What are you looking forward to this year?

Spending more time with family and friends, especially my granddaughters.

What is the best part of your role?

As owner-operator of Bella’s on the Bay, I love creating a truly romantic experience for couples staying there but I get the most buzz as a volunteer presenter for 2SSR community radio.

What is one thing you wish you were better at?

Remembering names.

What is the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you?

Life isn’t a dress rehearsal, so keep learning, dream big and make the most of it.

Planning a holiday?

Colorado for the next snow season. See the article here
