A morning tea was held at 2SSR (Sound of the Shire) Community Radio Station on 27th July to farewell and celebrate with Joyce McKenzie on her 28 years service as a Member and Presenter at the station.
Joyce presented a weekly program ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy’ every Tuesday for the past 25 years. To share this momentous occasion with Joyce were Presenters, Members, family and friends, who enjoyed Joyce’s stories as she gave a snap shot comedic reflection of her days as a Radio Presenter on 2SSR 99.7FM since it went live to air in 1992.
General Manager & Presenter Gloria Gervasoni congratulated and presented Joyce with a certificate of Appreciation and Cyclamen flowers on behalf of 2SSR members.
The cake was made by Office Assistant Joy Davies and the morning tea enjoyed by all, including past General Managers and station patron Helen Zerefos, all long time friends of Joyce.
We thank Joyce for the wonderful music and comedy she has provided to our listeners over these past years. We wish her well and will miss her cheery voice over the airways, but in true Joyce style tells her listeners ‘Don’t Worry Be Happy’.
