Sutherland Shire Council’s Cinema Under the Stars series returns again this year, with local families set to enjoy free outdoor twilight movie screenings at various locations throughout the Sutherland Shire in January and February.
Sutherland Shire Mayor, Councillor Carmelo Pesce said Council was delighted to feature Cinema Under the Stars as part of its extensive summer events program.
“It’s important that our program includes events for residents of all ages to enjoy. We know how popular our twilight movie screenings have been in the past and we’re thrilled they’re back,” Mayor Pesce said.
“It’s a great opportunity for families and friends to come together in our beautiful outdoors and enjoy this free entertainment. And of course, we know how much kids love being outdoors and under the stars.
“Our young locals will be well catered for, with child-friendly movies, free popcorn and a fantastic night of acoustic music and garden games before each movie begins,” Mayor Pesce said.
Residents are encouraged to bring along picnic rugs and low chairs to sit back with the family and enjoy a twilight picnic from 5:30pm prior to movie screenings.
