Monique Buttaro
At age 13, 2SSR radio presenter Monqiue Buttaro, snuck out after ‘ ‘lights out” at her school camp with a hidden walkman in pocket to listen to Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart” on repeat. Staring up at the night sky, an earphone shared between her best friend, Monqiue’s love of music was born.
Living her teenage self’s dream Monique rewinds the cassette to the groovy 60’s, the ostentatious 70’s, the radical 80’s and the ‘in ya face’ 90’s hoping to share her music with someone who is not her moody teenaged children.
She delves into the culture, fashion, trends and most importantly the music of these nostalgic years.
