A taxi driver has been charged with indecently assaulting a girl, 17, at Rockdale last month.

Police allege the man, 60, picked up the teenager after she finished work at Rockdale and drove her to Farr Street.

After parking the taxi, the man offered to give the girl driving lessons in his private car nearby.

She drove to Ador Avenue where the man allegedly grabbed and tried to kiss her.

He then pushed her against the car and indecently assaulted her.

The girl ran home and reported the alleged assault to police the next day.

St George police arrested the man on October 10 and charged him with assaulting with an act of indecency. He was granted conditional bail to appear in Kogarah Local Court on October 23.
