The life of a repressed, chubby Italian girl growing up in the suburbs collides with the glamorous superstar Karen Carpenter.
A fateful trip to Target would seal a lifelong fascination with the leader of The Carpenters, one of the world’s most famous bands.
Angela Giuseppina Lumicisi is Karen’s number one fan.
Her hit show We’ve Only Just Begun is not only a love letter to the ingénue but tells the tale of how their lives are unbelievably intertwined.

A veteran musical theatre star, Lumicisi hits The Sutherland Centre on April 28 to recreate classic Carpenters songs.
“I fell in love with The Carpenters the very first time I heard them,” she said. “Being able to share this love and Karen’s story is what makes our show so special.”
Lumicisi’s powerhouse vocals are a haunting tribute to her beloved Karen in a show packed with humour, heartbreak and ultimately triumph.
