Set to raise much needed funds for Southern Community Welfare.

Southern Community Welfare, a grass roots, not for profit organisation operating in the Shire for the last 22 years is holding it’s third annual Monster Garage Sale from 7.30am to 2.30pm on Saturday, July 15th at Gymea Baptist Church, Tea Gardens Avenue, Kirrawee.

“Our Garage Sales so far have been a huge success, with over thousands of people coming along to grab a bargain ” said Southern Community Welfare’s CEO, Vicki Sherry. “We had many generous donations and the proceeds go directly to supporting Southern Community Welfare programs,” she said.

“We provide a range of professional emotional and social services to individuals, couples and families. All SCW staff are all clinically qualified and include registered psychologists, counsellors, speech pathologists, case managers and an on-site legal service. SCW is able to provide a comprehensive service to those who may need support with respect to Mental Health, Communication as well as broader family issues.

This year we also extended our family services through our collaborative arrangement with Kirkman Family Law – a specialist family law mediation firm that provides a compassionate alternative to the resolution of family law.

Many of our services work alongside the most marginalized and vulnerable in the community and this is a great way for the community to support those with the greatest need,” Vicki said.
