Bay Babes donate $30,000 to charity

SUTHERLAND Hospital oncology unit has welcomed a $30,000 donation from the Bay Babes.

It brings the total raised by the charity to more than $100,000 since it was formed by a group of Sutherland Shire mums in 2006.

The Bay Babes raise funds for breast cancer research at the oncology unit, the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the Jane McGrath Foundation and the Joanne Mackay Foundation.

The group also supports research at St George Hospital, and provides funding for essential items, such as wigs and pamper packs for women having treatment.

The donation was presented to Sutherland Hospital oncologist Dr Jodi Lynch at a morning tea last month to celebrate the achievements of the charity, especially its president, Chris Callinen.
